The line chart gives information about the oil produced and consumed in China from 1982 to 2006.
Overall, the rate of both oil consumption and production followed an upward trend over the period shown. Besides, there was a dramatic change in the figure for the production of oil between 1986 to 2006.
In 1982 there were around 2 millions of oil barrels produced per day in China while nearly 2 millions of oil barrels was consumed. Over the next four years, a significant increase of one million was witnessed in the amount of oil production and then reached a plateau in the next eight years. Also, the Chinese consumption of oil almost remained unchanged from 1982 to 1990.
In 1994, the production and consumption of oil started at the same amount of 3 million barrels per day. In the second half of the period, the figure for oil production increased slowly by 0,5 million and hit the highest point in 2006. Whereas the period between 1994 to 2006 saw a significant increase of around 3 million in the amount of oil consumption.
