People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Over 99% percent of students from my high school attend university after they graduated. Attending college or university becomes a common thoughts that can make us competitive. In my opinion, people attending colleges with multiples reasons which I will explore in the following essay.

First of all, universities provide opportunities for students to generate ideas without thinking about failure. For example, when I was a second-year university student, I attended a business competition that students propose ideas of different business models. I was planning to sell smoothie with my classmates in our university. The professor helped us to think more comprehensively and suggested us to compare smoothie store on the market. At the end, our plan didn't work out but I tried and understand how to create logos, make products and set price. Those skills becomes helpful to me after I graduated.

Secondly, study in the universities can expand our network with people. At school, we can know people with different majors who can be helpful to offer us information from different field. For instance, I am an English major students, and I have a friend who is majored in mass communications. She told me that there is a TV company is hiring people with english speaking skills. Then, I applied for the job and worked there for 2 years. Besides, we can also meet people who can be our lifelong friend in college. College students are having more time and freedom than high school students. We have lots of time to spend with our classmates after the classes.

Admittedly, a lot of people may say that if we skip the four years of university, we can earn and save lots of money. I have heard some people claims that the knowledge they learn from college is not helpful to their future job. Yet, from my perspectives, university is not a cram school to teach us how to work, but to enrich us with knowledge that can influence our value system. To be specific, I read a lot of literature works in English department, and those works are hard to directly related to most of the career. Nevertheless, those works really change my perspectives on humanity and life.

To sum up, people attend college because it open for ideas and failure and it can expand our relation with people.
