The diagram below shows the plan of a library in 2001 and 2009. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The two pictures illustrate various changes in the ground floor in a library over the period of 8 years up to 2009.
In general, what stands out from the two pictures is that there were extensive changes with regard to the introduction of more shelves for many kinds of books there. It is clear to see that the newspapers and periodicals shelf changed considerably with the replacement of films and DVDs one.
Looking at the plan, two computers were bought and set up in the left of this library. In the meantime, the shelves of self help and history books which were located at the right were demolished to make way for 6 other shelves, namely history, fiction, self help, kitchen, economics and law. Meanwhile, the fiction shelf at the top was replaced by the children’s books one and added one area for kids to play.
The librarian’s desk and the entrance still remained stable. Besides that, 8 tables which were located in the centre of the library were replaced by 4 bigger tables in the plan in 2009.
