The depicted bar graph illustrates ‘food and drink’, ‘restaurant and hotel’ and ‘entertainment’ as three categories in which UK dwellers, among four different age classifications, disbursed in 2004.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the UK residents’ expenditure precedence changed with age. ‘Food and drink’ and ‘entertainment’ were accounted as the highest spending priorities among senior citizens, while the demand for restaurant and hotel decreased significantly.
The UK under-31-aged dwellers spent approximately 14 % of their spending budget on ‘restaurant and hotel’, while this figure for individuals between 31 to 60 years of age was estimated to be roughly 12 %. This is in contrast to the citizens whom aged between 61 to 75 years, residents in this category preferred to spend least amount of money, only 2%, on ‘restaurant and hotel’, however the great proportion of their total spending dedicated to ‘entertainment’ and ‘food and drink’, 23% and 20% respectively.
In addition, the over-76-aged-senior citizens allocated over 22% of their expense budget on edible stuffs, while they were less interested in restaurant by spending only 7% of their expenditure allocation. Spending Priorities of people aged 31 to 45 seemed quite the same with the individuals between 46 to 60 years of age.
