Writing task 1
The maps depict the refurbishments of a small fishing village in 1974 to became an enormous European tourist resort in 2004.
Overall, it is noticeable that the village had developed and changed remarkably in the past few years. Additionally, many developments had been applied and the village in 2004 turned into a crowded and attractive resort.
Looking at the two maps, it is evident that the characteristic which changed the most was the woodland. It had been knocked down and instead, a golf course was bulit right at its place in 2004. Furthermore, in the centre of the village, the olives field and the area for sheep and goats had been renovated and became a modern farmland in 2004, provided fruit and vegetables for the nearby hotels which had just appeared at the coastal area served for tourists. In the north-west, the village had also been expanded and added more shops. Last but not least, the new road for transportation had been developed connected the homes of locals to another village.
Howerver, we can easily realise that there were also some features which remain stable, for instance the fishing village. Those features created the traditional custome for the resort and made the resort attracted more tourists.
