The graph shows the number of marriages and divorces in the UK between 1975 and 2000.

The presented line graph illustrates the information about the quantity of British people who got married and divorced from 1975 to 2000.
The initial impression from the graph is that, the figures for 2nd marriages and divorces witnessed upward trends over the given period while that for the first marriages experienced a decline. Moreover, the total marriages saw a sharp increase in the first 10 years and then dropped moderately before recovering slightly in the final five years.
The number of first marriages stayed well beyond the others at about 320 thousands in 1975. Following that was the second marriages with about 150 thousand and the data of divorces was under-neath at just around 90 thousands.
Over 25 years, Whilst Fewer British got married for the first time with its figure surging slightly before dropping to 300 thousand in 2010. More people in the UK remarried with its data climbing up to 300 thousand. Regarding the figure for divorce, it bottomed out at nearly 90 thousand and then gradually overtook before reaching the same number as that of the second marriages in the last year of the period shown.
In term of the total marriages, after rising considerably, Britain saw a considerable decline in marriages, followed by a leap from 1995 to 2000 at about 580 thousand
