The chart below shows the amount of time that 10 to 15-year-olds spend chatting on the Internet and playing on games consoles on an average school day in the UK.
Given is the bar chart depicting how much time British children from 10 to 15 spend on two activities, namely socializing on the Internet and entertaining on game consoles per day.
It is conspicuous that the percentage of time which boys spend on playing games is higher than that of girls, while the reverse is true for expenditures on chatting. Additionally, the total time spent playing on the game consoles is more popular than the remaining activity.
When it comes to chatting online, nearly 70% of 10-15 years old girls prefer communicating online on a daily basis, in comparison with 55% of boys. Moreover, the majority of girls spend from 1 to 3 hours doing this activity, meanwhile, the lowest proportion that girls and boys spend over 4 hours is 9% and 2% respectively.
It turns to play on smart devices, the percentage of boys spend their time on entertaining through game consoles is so far the highest percent with around 85% with half of them spend from 1 to 3 hours per day and 10% of boys play over 4 hours. As opposed to girls, with less than 35% of boys, most of them spend less than an hour playing daily.
