The following diagram shows the life-cycle of a frog.
The given diagram depicts a typical life-cycle of a frog. It is a cyclic process.
Overall, the cycle revolves around seven major stages starting from tadpoles to frog.
The cycle commences when a tadpole hatches from the frog spawn. This newly hatched tadpole will take about a week to grow in size which is followed by development of gills on their exterior part of body. This stage is seen only after six-weeks of birth. Further, within the next 2 weeks, hind legs are formed.
After 12 whole weeks of birth, front legs are developed and the tail shrinks in size. Gradually, this tail disappears. With the hind and front legs fully developed, the frog is capable of hopping, due to which it hops out of water and jumps onto the land. After this the frog is capable of spawning eggs as it has reached the reproductive stage. From here the cycle continues.
