The bar chart below shows the numbers of men and women attending various evening courses at an adult education centre in the year 2009. The pie chart gives information about the ages of these course participants.

The bar chart illustrates four evening courses in terms of the number of participants categorized by their genders, while the pie chart compares the proportions of the range of ages among these course takers in 2009.
Overall, it is evident that Language took up the majority number of males, and the most common age was 50 years old or more.
Looking at the bar chart, Language topped the scale with 40 male attendants, roughly doubled that of females. Paintings constituted 30 men, and women accounted for the approximate number of about 25. Following that, in Drama course, the number of males doubled that of women, with 20 and 10 participants, respectively. Sculpture stood at 10 people for the figure of males, while female attendants recorded the lowest percentage at around half of that of males.
As for the pie chart, 42% of the participants were at the age of 50 or more, followed by the percentage of middle-age attendants with roughly half of the number. the figures for 30 to 39 years old and from 20 to 29 years old participants are fairly equivalent, of 16% and 11%, correspondingly. The rest of the percentage of the course attendants are under the age of 20 and only accounted for roughly 16% in total.
