The diagram below depicts how sugar is produced from sugar cane.
Overall, there are seven main steps in which sugar is manufactured. Such steps start at growing sugar canes and end at drying and cooling.
The process begin with sugar canes being planted and taken care of from twelve to eighteen months, after which they are harvested in two different ways, one is by local residents and another is by cutting machine. Once the harvesting step is done, the harvested sugar canes are gathered all together to put into a crushing machine to get juice.
The manufacturing process continues with the purifying juice step, in which the juice mentioned above is poured through a limestone filter in order to remove the unwanted substances. Next, the pure juice is boiled in high temperature, from which it evaporates and the juice inside the pot condenses into syrup. Subsequently, sugar crystals are seperated from the syrup in the centrifuge stage, which is folloed by the last step, drying and cooling sugar before packaging and delivering to companies or supermarkets.
