The media pay too much attention to the lives and relationships of celebrities such as actors, singers or footballers. They should spend more time reporting the lives of ordinary people instead.
Nowadays, the media focus too much on the private lives of celebrated people like actors, singers or footballers. However, I believe famous people have a right to have their personal lives, and the media should investigate ordinary people's lives instead.
People who agree that the media should report celebrities' lives have one principal reason for this opinion. They suppose that news about well-known people's lives is for entertainment without knowing that it is a violation of privacy. For instance, a girl breaks up with her boyfriend, which is very common, but if the girl is a famous person, that is another thing. As a result, everyone will comment negatively about famous people's news, which not only ruins their reputation but also severely affects their surrounding people, such as families and friends.
On the other hand, there are solid reasons for concurring that the media should concentrate on ordinary people's lives instead of being curious about celebrities' privacy. Firstly, the media should report valuable news, namely social problems and difficulties we face, to help people keep up to date with that important news without missing them. Secondly, the media should spread well-known people's influence about the positive things, such as doing charity, raising funds for the homeless and the poor, and standing up for justice. Thus, people will follow the celebrities' example and be aware of doing good things like them, which will contribute a lot to society.
In short, the media play a critical role in updating news to everyone and have a significant influence on people's awareness, so they have to consider what kind of news to report. I firmly believe that celebrities also need privacy, and the media should report their positive sides instead of their personal lives and relationships.
