The diagram illustrates the process of making drinks cans from cans that were used. Overall, the manufacturing of cans involves 7 steps and can be divided into 2 stages. This cyclic, simple process starts with collecting aluminum and steel cans and ends with moving them to the drinks machine.
In the first stages, cans that were used are separated into aluminium cans and steel cans at the collection centre. These sorted cans are then delivered to a recycling centre, before being compressed into cubes by machines at the plants and are already to be recycled.
In the following stages, a huge number of cubes of aluminium cans are melted down, this steps allowing old aluminium to be recycled into new aluminium bars. Next, these bars are formed into rolls which are used to make new cans. Once the process of making new cans is finished, these new cans are then packaged and arranged in the drinks machine for consumption. In short, these cans can be recycled and the process can be repeated.
