The bar graph illustrates the changes in the proportion of the population in four different countries which are India, China, the USA, and Japan between 1950 and 2022, and indicates the projections till 2050. It can be seen from the graph that China and India have the biggest percentages during the given period of time.
To begin with, although people who lived in China made up a little over a quarter of the world’s population in 1950, it showed a slightly decreasing until today. It is predicted that the population of China will continue to fall and would reach approximately 18% by 2050. Unlike China, India had an opposing trend which is that the number of residents increased from 15% to about %18 between 1950 and 2022 and it would be just over 20%.
When it comes to the USA and Japan, the populations of both of them reduced from the beginning of the period to 2022. In addition, it is foretold that the percentage will remain the same in the USA, whereas in Japan, the population is likely to keep falling till 2050.
In overview, by 2050 while Japan will have the lowest percentage among the four countries, India will reach the highest amount.
