Regarding birth rates in china, starting at 10% in 1920, afterward, there was a steady fluctuation prior to falling back to roughly 10% in 1930. Thenceforth, the mentioned proportion sharply increase to 15% in 1935 before witnessed a threefold decrease to 5% in the middle of 1940. In the next 5 years, this rates remained intact. Strikingly, the percentage leap and hit the zenith in 1950, with 20% recorded. What even more prominent is the opposite was true for this figure in the short time later, and approximately 7% was achieved in 1955. In the remaining period, the birth rates ratched down consistently to about 2% in 2000.
In terms of the USA’s rates of birth, it was gradually fluctuated around 11% - 13% in the first 20 years of the surveyed period. Shortly after, the figure experienced am immediate fall to about 6% in 1945 before suddenly escalating to about 14% in 1950. Despite a sharp rose in 1950, the China’s birth rate was still considerably higher than the USA’s. Afterward, the USA’s percentage shared the similar trend with the China’s, and 20% was reached in 2000.
