The following pie charts are the comparison of energy production from various sources in France.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart compared statistics of energy manufacture in France, measured by percentage, in 1995 and 2005.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that coal accounted for most of the total energy production in both given years, whereas this proportion of nuclear and other energy is the smallest. In addition, both gas and coal experienced a minor increase in shares and interestingly, the percentage of nuclear also went up considerably. In contrast, petro production witnessed a significant drop.
In 1995, coal contributed nearly 30% of total fuel production and this number of nuclear and other resources only stood at 6,4% and 4.9% respectively. At the same time, both gas and petro held a relatively similar percentage to coal production, adding up to approximately 60% of energy manufacture.
Moving to 2005, it is clear that both coal and gas simultaneously rose to over 30% of total production. Interestingly, nuclear and other energy shared the same upward trend but at a more speedy rate. In contrary, petro proportion had a noticeable decrease for about 10%.
