The line graph provided above illustrates the rate at which students graduated in Canadian Universities from 1992 to 2007, categorized by their gender. This short essay will explore the graphs features and its trends across the duration of the time span.
In 1992, the graph states that there are approximately 98,000 and 71,000 female and male students respectively. Both categories of students constantly increased in size until 1995, where the amount of graduates began to deteriorate. The diminishing in number of students led to the sum of students in Canadian Universities to return close to its starting sum in 1992. This trend continued until 1998 where the number of graduates, both male and female, increased in number sharply.
The quantity of female graduates consistently heightened in the throughout the rest of the timeline. In contrast, male students had a minor dip in the quantity of graduating students in 2001 but soon recovered and maintained an increasing rate of graduates for the rest of the recording.
The graph is summarized in the year 2006, where graduating female students reached a total of nearly 150,000 students, while male students only produced 95,000 graduates.v
