The given charts are illustrating the foreign sell of pineapples in 2009 and 2019 by three pineapple growing contries as well as different factors that contribute to the final price paid by the consumer.
Overall, country A and B experienced opposit trend but country C had negligible change in the overseas market over the 10 years period. In the cost breakdown aspect, unfortunately producers get only 5% of the whole price of pineapple that a consumer pays.
In 2009, country A exported only 1 million metric tonnes of pinapple, it increased to over 10 million metric tonnes in the next 10 years. For country B, the export reduced from over 4 million to around 1 million metric tonnes in the same time.
35% of the whole prineapple price is shared by distribution and retain which is highest among other contributors, this is followed by taxes and international transport accounting 16% and 12% respectively. Export cost added the lowest only 4% of the total price while producer get only 5%. Throughout the whole supply chain from producer to distributor, total 18% profit is generated in 2019.
