Overall, the size of the world's population witnessed a dramatic rose over 600 years, while the figure for Asia accounted for the highest proportion at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.
Regarding the line graph, the global population numbers from a low of less than 500 million in 1400 to rise considerably to about 1.2 billion in 1700. During the remainder of the period, the rise was sharper, but only between 1700 and 1800, there was a dramatic decline which reached the point of less than 1 billion people. However, the population size increased significantly to hit its highest point of 6 billion people in 2000.
According to the two pie charts, they witnessed that the majority of the population lived in Asia, followed by Europe in both 1900 and 2000. As can be seen from the charts, the figure for Asia witnessed a slight decline as well as Europe from 60% to 54% and from 24% to 14% respectively. North America kept a balance of 5 % of the world population while in Africa and Latin America, there was a substantial growth from 3% to 8% and from 4.5% to 13% at the beginning of the 21st. The figure for other areas rose by 2.5% over the period. The most substantial changes in the percentage of residents were in Europe and Africa continents.
