The diagram below shows the manufacturing process of making sugar from sugar cane
The diagram illustrates how sugar is made from its initial form of sugar cane. Overall, the process consists of 7 steps, beginning with nurturing fresh sugar canes and ending with the complete sugar product.
After around 12 to 18 months of growing sugar cane, they are harvested by both modern harvesters and traditional method by farmers. After that, sugar cane juice is collected through a process of crushing and squeezing in the cane mills.
The juice then will be purified by using a clean limestone filter, followed by being evaporated in a specialized tool using high-temperature heat to make the syrup liquid. In the next stage, a centrifuge is responsible for the removal of sugar crystals from the collected syrup and most lumps of sugar are mainly created in this stage. The final stages in the process include hydrating and cooling the sugar crystals. From there, sugar will be packaged and sold into the market.
