The table and charts below give information on the police budget for 2017 and
2018 in one area of Britain. The table shows where the money came from and
the charts show how it was distributed.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and
make comparisons where relevant

The given table compares the money British police earned between 2017 and 2018, while the two pie charts illustrate how such a budget was spared for certain purposes.
Overall, the table depicts that surveyed police received a far more significant amount of money from their national government than that from other sources. Regarding the pie charts, salaries for the staff dominated the two-year spending.
In 2017, the police budget was 304,7 million pounds, more than half of which was from the government(177,5 million). Local taxes contributed 91,2 million; the remaining portion was from other sources, such as grants. Three-quarters of the budget was used to pay the staff and officers. The force spent nearly a fifth on buildings and transportation, recorded at 17%. A small percentage of 8% of the budget was used on technology.
In 2018, the overall budget was raised to 318,6 million pounds. The government continued to be the main source of income for the force, allocating 177,8 million. Similarly, there was a minor increase in the amount of taxes from the area, reaching 102,3 million pounds, compared to the previous year. Salaries remained the highest payment of the force, taking up 69%. Precinct buildings and vehicles required another 17%. The technology budget witnessed a considerable rise, with 14% this year.
