The graph displays the number of people living in four cities in the world between 1970 and the present.
On the whole, the population of these cities grew a lot since 1970. The number of residents in Malaysia and Indonesia has risen the most, while the number in the Philippines has increased too.
In Malaysia, the number of residents pushed up from about 30% in 1970 to 40% in 1980. But following this the population has grown rapidly from 40% in 1980 to 80% at the present time. Likewise, the number of people living in Indonesia also soared from a little more than 10% to about 60% at the present time.
In addition, the Philippines increased sharply from 30% in 1970 to almost 50% in 1990. However, it fell sharply from almost 50% in 1990 to about 40% in 2010. Since then, it has increased slightly by 50% through 2040. Finally, Thailand has risen steadily over the years. Although from 1990 to 2020, there has only been a slight increase, in general, Thailand has increased steadily until the present time.
