In general, there was a downward trend in the proportion of fashion and health, while the opposite was true for other types of magazines. In addition, during the period, the sales figure of sports magazine was the best-selling publication and the sales number of food and others remained unchanged, although they reached a peak in 1995.
In 2015, with nearly 32% of the total sports was bought, making it the highest compared to other figures. Besides, the percentage of fashion magazine was around 21% which was approximately double that of food magazine. Especially, the sales of health and others kind of magazine was over 25%, being equal.
Turning to magazines genres with their trend, A significant increase of approximately 10% was seen in the percentage of sports. By contrast, the sales figure of fashion witnessed a remarkable decrease of over 15%, which was a quarter that of figures in 1975. Similarly, the period from 1975 to 1995 experienced a slight drop of over 5% in the proportion of health magazine, but later remain unchanged from 1995 to 2015. However, the food magazine and others type of magazine was sold by the company, hitting the highest point in 1995, with the former rising to 22% and the latter to 32%, but after 20 years of rapid growth, the sales number of these magazine genres had started to experienced a leveling off.
