The table illustrates the average distance in miles traveled per person per year in eight distinct modes of travel in 1985 and 2000. It is obvious that the car has the most distance among other modes and the Taxi has the lowest, in addition, the total distance in 1985 was higher than in 2000.
As can be seen, the Walikng, Bycilce, and local buses were reduced in 2000 by 18, 10, and 47 numbers, and other remaining groups increased in 2000. The most important group that increased significantly was cars by about 1700 miles. The Taxi, Train, Long distance bus, and car modes ordered rise approximately 29, 75, 70, and 1700 miles. Taxis and bicycles were used under 100 miles in 1985 and 2000 which meant people did not like to use these modes of travel. By contrast, the statistics showed people in society have a good tendency to use Car mode for traveling.
As a result, the total average distance in miles by 2000 rose around 2000 miles while some groups declined and some else went up.
