The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.
The given line chart details the information about water use universally, while the table depicts the amount of water that is used in two distinctive regions including Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Overview, it is obvious that a huge amount of water is utilized in three sectors increased to varying degrees and agriculture fields used large amount of water. Meanwhile the greater population and vast land of Brazil is attached with higher water consumption than Democratic Republic of Congo.
Looking more closely at the pie chart, the amount of water used for agricultural purpose started at about 500 km3 in the first year, after which saw a rise to just over 1000 km3 after 50 years, the figure increased consistently and finally reach a peak at roughly 3000 km3 in 2000. Turning to the remaining sectors, Water used in the industrial and domestic sectors also increased, but started the lower period with insignificant figure and rose minimally until 1950. From 1950 onward, the water used for both aforementioned sectors grew steadily with 1000 km3 for industrial sector and about 300 m3, which were lower than the counterparts.
According to the table, the water consumption of Brazil was significant with the figure being at 359 m3 for watering plants due to the immense territory (26,500 km2) and large population (176 million). By contrast, with the smaller land (100 km2) and only 5,2 million people living in Democratic Republic of Congo, the used water for irrigating was not considerable with only 8 m3.
