The table shows statistics about the number of international travelers in 8 countries in 2009 and 2010 and the shifts in this period.
Overall, France was the most popular country among international tourists and Hong Kong was the least in 2009 and 2010. In addition, the most significant rise in popularity was shown in Germany and the only country which witnessed a fall in the figure was Hong Kong.
It is substantial that 76 million international tourist arrivals were recorded in 2009 and that remain the same in 2010. With 66 million and the rise of 1.5%, the US ranked second in both two years. In 2009, Spain and UK shared the same number of international tourist arrivals, 55 million but the percentage of rise in the latter was approximately twice as much as the former. Moreover, the number of Turkey started with 33 million, which was 11 million lower than that of Italy before demonstrating a sharp increase of 33% and finishing with 45 million, equivalent to Italy.
The international arrivals to Germany doubled from 11 million to 23 million in the examined period. The figure for China in 2009 was roughly twice as much as Hong Kong. However, in 2010, China showed an increase of 55 percent whereas a decrease of 11 percent was recorded in Hong Kong.
