The chart illustrates the number of households in the US by their annual income in a period of 8-year period from 2007 to 2015. The statistical data were measured in the unit of millions.
Overall, the general trend over years were upward, with figureheads categorised into 5 different sections of yearly earnings. Noticeably, the figures for the section of from $100,000 to above in the final year reached the peak of the whole graph, while those for the category from $75,000 to $99,999 hit the trough of the total data
Particularly, to begin with, there was roughly 25 million households earning less than $25,000 per year at the starting point of the timespan; the numbers of these households grew by 4 million in the middle of the period, then ending up at 27 million in 2015. The second category of annual earning mirrored the trend of the former, albeit the higher rate, with 36 million households in 2015 rising up to 38 million households, prior to roundly 38 households in 2011. Meanwhile, the number of households with annual income of $50,000-$74,999 flattened off at over 20 million throughout years. Households earning $75,000-$99,999 each year shared the similar patterns with those of the previous section of income, accounting for only around 15 million, despite a negligible dip of 1 million in 2011. The most remarkable increase rate in figureheads was recorded in the field of income of $100,000 or more, with the quantity from around 30 up to 35 million in the final year, irrespective of a decrease by 3 million.
