The reading passage and the lecture discussing about how to protect the frog population from it is extinction but in contrast way.
First of all, the reading passage says that frog species is declining due to use pesticide by means of it chemical causing the problem to nervous system and eventually it kills the frog, so this can be prevented by using by strict regulation for using pesticide in certain area where the frog species are more but the professor refutes this point by stating that if they following strict regulation for using pesticide the crop failure will that leads great economical to former as well as entire nation.
Secondly, the reading passage claims that fungus important causes for the decline of the frog species and if the treating with anti fungal treatment then we prevent the declining the frog population because fungus causes infection to skin and that leads to death. Again professor contrast this point by stating that if we want treat the fungal function the we must treat each frog individually not as a group and more over we treat the off spring that frog separately that highly impossible to do that.
Thirdly, reading passage suggests that human activities another important factor for declining of the frog species, if human being maintain the wet land and drains then the frog population may not decline like maintaining lake ans marshes. But the speaker oppose this point whatever damages happen to the wet land not only because of human activities but also because of global warming.
