Childhood is the happiest time of a person's life.
In contrast to the reading passage, which emphasizes the relation between reward and performance positively, the lecture focuses on potential nd salary rather than on rewards. The professor disagree with the text about sysytem of reward to encourage employee.
The passage explains that behavior rewards are important aspect of management and to increase productivity. However, the professor says that people don't like encouragement, they want to be paid for their work. And there is no control study which states that productivity increases because of rewards. Instead of increase, rewards could be counter productive too.
The second point that the professor makes has to do with the subject matter of counter effect of rewards. According to text, Job performance and rewards are propotional to each other. However, the professor contradict this by saying that few employies thinks rewards are punishment. They thinks they are being controled or manupulated and off course they don't like being that. So this may lead to less productivity. Moreover, the more you desire for rewards and if you fail then more disappoinment you will be. Thus rewards can abate quality amount of work. Employee will tend to avoid ask question to superior who have authority of rewards, because employee thinks that will give negetive impact on their personality in front of superior. So thus it also reduces the performance.
Finally, in contrast to the reading passage's claim that rewards can help to persuade people to achieve remarkable results, the professor reminds that rewards can reduce productivity and performance.
