In the year 1979, the amount of beef eaten was the highest, at about 220 grams per person per week. The figure for lamb and chicken was lower, at exact 150 and under 150 grams respectively. People in the country ate only about 70 grams of fish per week, which was the lowest figure among 4 kinds.
From 1979 to 2004, there was a significant increase, despite some fluctuations, in the amount of chicken consumed to under 250 grams. By contrast, the figure for beef and lamb witnessed a considerable decline to about 100 and around 70 grams in the year 2004. The amount of fish consumption fell steadily to under 50 grams throughout the period, a fall of about 20 in 25 years
