The figure gives information about weather forecasting process of Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
As can be seen from the diagram, there are totally four steps in weather forecasting process. The Astralian Bureau of Meteorology takes the incoming information from satellite, radar or drifting buoy and broadcasts the weather forecasting via some means of communication.
The up-to-the-minute information is gathered and then analysed, focasted, expressing via several types of diagram. For example, the drifting buoy incoming information is converted into synoptic chart; the radar collects information which is processed into radar screen or synoptic chart; the satellite information is either converted to satellite photo or gathered by a radar and then processed into radar screen or synoptic chart.
After the analysis and focasting stage, the information is used to prepare the weather broadcast by computer. Finally, the weather forecasts are broadcasted on three media means, namely TV newspaper, radio and recorded annoucement.
