Task 1
The bar chart illustrates and compares the number of Japanese tourist visited overseas between 1985 and 1995.It is clear from the chart that there was an upward trend in the traveling of Japanese people abroad throughout the period.
In 1985, approximately 5 million Japanese traveled to foreign countries as tourists .During the next five years of period the figure increased steadily by about 6million before it dropped slightly by about 0.5 million in 1991.Between 1992 and 1993, traveling of people from Japan remained constant at around 12 millions. There after the figure rose gradually again in 1994 from about 13 million to just above 15 million in 1995.
The line graph reveals how Australia’s shares on Japanese tourist industry changed over a decade of period from 1985 to 1995. As an overall, there was a growing tendency in this figure except in 1985 and 1994. In fact, the percentage of Japanese tourists traveled to Australia grew steadily from about 4.5% in 1985 to about 6% in 1995 though there were slight drops in 1985 and 1995.
To sum up, there was a gradual growth in traveling of Japanese people to foreign countries and Australia tended to invest more shares to attract Japanese tourist to their country.
