Issue Essay:-

People who make decisions based on emotion and justify those decisions with logic afterwards are poor decision makers.

Many people used to make there decision based on emotions. They have a dogma that taking decisions based on emotions were always present traits of good decision maker This content seems to be correct upto some extent but always taking decisions based on emotion doesn't produce good results in the future. Appropriated decisions are the one which were taken through proper brainstorming and firmness, there is, no need to give any justification for them. If anyone is making decision and oscillating around it then one can never be a good decision maker.

To be a good decision maker one has to take decisions in such a way that there is no need to give any justification for them. A good decision is one which was taken after considering its results in all circumstances appropriately. Considering army people , when high officials give training to there cadets the first teaching which is being given to them is that they have to take decision with stolidity. They have to be firm about there decision otherwise, it comes out to be mishap for them. Consider battle is going on between different nations and at that time high army officials taking the decisions considering emotions of there army men does it produce appropriate results? No, it leads to a disastrous effect on there infantries. Decisions which were taken were always infirm and they has to be taken on the basis of appropriate logic.

On the other hand, some time it is require taking decision based on emotions but these are taken due to some circumstances for which proper justification is always provided with them. For a politician it is very difficult to take decision with solidity. If they remain rigid all the time then it is very difficult for them to manage whole nation. As we always hear there speech in which they proclaim there promises considering emotions of the people. They make different promises and then fulfill requirements of people according to the priority. According to circumstances they have to oscillate there decisions considering the conditions of different people. However, some time it is required for them to take immediate and rigid decisions which lead to upliftment of society. We saw that various terrorist like kasaab have came in the India and tried to deteriorate it. At that time the firm verdict taken by them to lynch him is appropriate.

Furthermore, consider there is a case is being filed in judiciary court and prosecutions were made against someone who is being accused for some crime and if there are no evidences presented against the culprit then at that time it is not possible for a judge to take decisions on the basis of emotions or on the basis of prosecutions made against him. For a judge it is required to take decision as a good decision maker. If he started taking decisions considering emotions then it leads to put a disastrous effect on someone life. Either judge has to give decision in the favor of culprit or its punishment is being commuted or being exculpate from the allegations .

Though it is a belief that someone taking decision on the based on emotions and then giving justifications is a good decision maker. However, this viewpoint on the present issue is negated by the evidences as it seems to create unfavorable effect. A good decision maker is one who brainstorm all the alternatives, sort through all the alternatives, always try to capture more and more information, never rely too much on expert information, listening to his own feeling and gut reactions, understanding all the aspects of societies. Considering all these aspects if someone is taking firm decision is always be a good decision maker as this always being accepted by the society and produce appropriate results afterwards.

I appeared for GRE on 2nd of September and recently I got my AWA score. I got 3 in AWA. So can you please tell me how do you evaluate our score as here I always got above 3.5 in both Issue and argument essay, but there i got only 3. Please tell me, how do I improve my essay writing because in some colleges it is necessary to get minimum 3.5 in AWA.

Well, your real AWA mark should be around 4.5, not 3.0. There are three possible reasons:

reason 1. one of the essays is out of topic. Try to remember the topics and put them back, let us check them out.

reason 2. didn't finish essays in time or with a lot of grammar issues.

Look at your flaws:

No. of Words: 632 350 (write the essay in half an hour)
No. of Grammatical Errors: 11 2

No. of Words: 632 means you didn't write the essay in half an hour for sure. You can get better marks in testbig if you develop essays over 30 minutes, but it is not for real test. It is important to write the essay in time because only by this way, we can understand better of your flaws.

Look at another big issue: No. of Grammatical Errors: 11 which is too much for those who are going to take GRE exams. Maybe you are careless or for any other reasons. But ETS is much more tough on grammar and gave you a very bad mark.

So what is the solution:
Write less content but with grammatical checks. For issue essays, around 450 words, for argument essays, around 400 words.

Put a clock beside you when you are writing an essay next time.

reason 3. All of your argument essays are not good compared to your issue essays. This means you will need to pay more attention to argument essays. Try to read topics of all argument essays and think about the outlines if possible.

Hope these can help you and let us know if you have more questions.

Can you write one more essay? So we can understand whether you write the essay out of topic or not.

This is the essay topic from new GRE:

A recent study of eighteen rhesus monkeys provides clues as to the effects of birth order on an individual's levels of stimulation. The study showed that in stimulating situations (such as an encounter with an unfamiliar monkey), firstborn infant monkeys produce up to twice as much of the hormone cortisol, which primes the body for increased activity levels, as do their younger siblings. Firstborn humans also produce relatively high levels of cortisol in stimulating situations (such as the return of a parent after an absence). The study also found that during pregnancy, first-time mother monkeys had higher levels of cortisol than did those who had had several offspring.

Write a response in which you discuss one or more alternative explanations that could rival the proposed explanation and explain how your explanation(s) can plausibly account for the facts presented in the argument.

Finish the essay in half an hour.

Hello testbig, I've submitted this essay can you please evaluate it, but I want to tell you one thing that I've tried a lot to do it on time, but I'm unable to find arguments exactly. So that's why I've written it in 40 min. I've written it in 30 minutes but to extract arguments I've taken 10 minutes. I'm sorry for that but really I'm unable to find arguments in between 30 minutes as it seems to be difficult to me I don't know why. Really Sorry.

This is a new GRE essay topic which is a bit different to those arguments essays.

You don't need to find flaws(and there are no flaws actually) from the statement but are asked to 'discuss one or more alternative explanations that could rival the proposed explanation...'.

No users can write this essay properly till now.
