The provided bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian males and females in different age groups who did physical activity on a regular basis in the year 2010.
Overall, a quick look at the graph reveals that the rate of females in the 45 to 54 age group was the highest, whereas males aged 25 to 34 did the least physical activity.
The figure for Australian men in the 15 to 24 age group (52,8%) was higher than that of the 25 to 34 and 35 to 44 age groups, at approximately 42% and 39,5%, respectively. The females in the 15 to 24 age group were less physically active than males of that group, just at 47,7%. On the contrary, the figure for females aged 25 to 44 was about 6% higher compared to the figure for males of the same age group. Between the ages of 35 and 44, the rate of females who did regular physical activity in 2010 was about 52%, which was much higher than that of males, at under 40%.
More than a half of women in the 45 to 54 age group were doing exercises on a daily basis in 2010, while just 43.1% of males in that group did. Men aged 55 to 64 were more physically active than that of 45 to 55 age group, at 53% and just over 45%, respectively. Subsequently, the proportion of males and females in the 65 and over age group were almost identical, at around 47%.
