The bar chart below shows the percentage of government spending on roads and transport in 4 countries in the years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005.
The graph illustrates the proportion of government in four countries (Italia, Portugal, the UK and the USA) having expenditure on travel expenses over the span of five years between 1900 and 2005.
At first glance at the chart, the amount of money spent on roads and transport of the European countries almost doubled when it comes to being compared with the others for the period. Also noticeable was that the UK spent the lowest of the total.
Looking at the bar chart closely, it is apparent that in 1990, Portugal and Italy had the highest figures for travel cost representing approximately 27 percentage. In constrat, the UK and the USA just made up roughly 10 percent. By 1995, all countries, however, declined significantly about 1-3 percent, no huge changes were made to.
By 2000, there was a slight shift that travel expenses of Italy surged remarkably, taking up nearly 25 percent, being the dominant of the total while that of Portugal plummetted gradually and the others remained almost stable. In the latter period, in 2005, with the exception of the USA, it shot up dramatically about 2-5 percent, all were nearly flat.
