Overall handheld games account for the majority of sales around the world over the given years. Moreover, in the beginning, there were only console games and handheld games while, after one year online games came to the sales in contrast to mobile phone games in 2002 global sales field.
In 2000, sales started with around 6 billion dollars compared to about over 11 billion dollars of handheld games. However, the global sales of console games decreased on the following years and finished at approximately 3 billion dollars in 2006. While, handheld games has a considerable growth in sales over the given years and reached at the peak in about 18billion dollars at the the end of the period.
In terms of mobile phone game and online games account for a mere 2 billion dollars in 2002 which grows remarkably and climbed to above 7billion dollars and about 9 billion dollars respectively in 2006. Furthermore, all three digital games has a significant growth in global sales except handheld games.
