The pie charts compare the average proportion of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar consumed in breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack by the Americans. These three nutrients can be harmful if people overeat it.

It is clear that dinner has the biggest percentage of sodium and saturated fat, while added sugar is found significantly in snack. All of these nutrients account for a small amount in breakfast.

Sodium and saturated fat are the two nutrients consumed remarkably in dinner, accounting for 43% and 37%. The Americans also absorb lots of added sugar in snack, with 42%; however, the figures for sodium and saturated fat are smaller, at 14% and 21% respectively.

Lunch contains the quantity of 29% sodium, followed by 26% saturated fat and 19% added sugar. Least percentage of nutrients mentioned are taken in from breakfast which includes an equal proportion of saturated fat and added sugar, at 16%. The figure of sodium ranks the least, with 14%.
