The chart below shows the expenditure of three car companies on advertising in UK in 2007
The bar charts illustrate the spending on advertising of the three different car companies measured by millions of dollars in the United Kingdom in 2007. Overall, while Acura spent the least amount of money on advertising, Cadillac spent the most. It is noticeable that TV advertisement was by far the most popular advertising means.
Looking at the similarities, both advertising through press and television experienced the same tendency with small gaps among the three companies Acura, Chevrolet, and Cadillac. Cadillac company spent 70 million dollars to promote on television. Similarly, Chevrolet and Acura also used a large of money on this promotion, which accounted for 60 and 55 million dollars, respectively. Press was the most second popular activity to notice people among the three car companies. 55 million dollars were spent on the press in Cadillac compared with 40 million dollars in Chevrolet and Acura followed just less than 1 million dollars.
In terms of differences, advertising through cinema witnessed a quite severe gap from Acura or Chevrolet compared to Cadillac. Promoting by cinema was the second popular in Cadillac with 60 million dollars but the least popular in Acura and Chevrolet, which only spent under 16 million dollars.
