Essay topics:

The chart below shows numbers of incidents and injuries per 100 million passenger miles travelled (PMT) by transportation type in 2002.

This bar graph illustrates the data of people used five different kinds of transportation suffered incidents and injuries every 100 million passenger miles travelled (PMT) in the year 2002.

Looking at the information in more detail, we can see that the demand response was caused by the highest incidents and injuries in 2002, at 225 and 173 respectively. This is followed by the people who used buses which caused incidents and injuries at 76 for the former and 66 for the latter. Similarly, the use of light rail contributed to exactly the same figure on the incidents as the bus, while people got injuries were much lower at 39.

By contrast, the heavy rail accounted at a much lower figure in the number of incidents and injuries which as nearly 5 times less than the demand response. The commuter rail was occupied the lowest numbers of incidents and injuries at 20 and 17 respectively.

Overall, it is clear that comparing with the other four transport types, the demand response was more likely to occur an incident and to cause an injury. Furthermore, the commuter rail was the safest transportation in 2002.
