The chart below shows the percentage change in the share of international students among university graduates in different Canadian provinces between 2001 and 2006.
The chart represents the proportion of international graduates in eight different Canadian universities from 2001 to 2006.
Overall, the proportion of international graduates increased. The highest international graduates were New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in both periods. It is interesting to note that, the international students graduated from British Columbia were raised the most in its proportion.
Looking in details of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia had the highest international graduates in both years. New Brunswick increased with the percentage of international graduates from 8% in 2001 to 13% in 2006, while Nova Scotia rose with a percentage of international graduates of 7% in 2001 to 11% in 2006. Meanwhile, the rest of universities recorded at above 5% of international graduates in 2006 compared to those of below 5% in 2001.
It is interesting to note that, Quebec and British Columbia experienced a swapping the position of the third highest international graduates from 2001 to 2006. In 2001, Quebec universities had the 3rd highest proportion of international graduates of about 6% but the proportion of international graduates reached at below 10% by 2006. In opposed to Quebec universities, British Columbia had around 4% of international graduates in 2001 and by 2006; this grew substantially to over 10% of international students graduated from.
