The chart below shows the percentage of households on owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The supplied bar graph demonstrates the proportion in the number of owned and rented residences in England and Wales over a period of almost 100 years, commencing from 1918. As an overall trend, the percentage of the lodgings was significantly decreasing, when, on the opposite, the amount of houses and apartments bought was showing a sharp growth.

According to the graph, the highest rate of people allowed to use someone’s place for living was at the highest point in 1918 with more than 75 per cent. After that figures started to fall, placing at the approximately 30-33 per cent in 2001.

Another bar, on the contrary, shows it’s the lowest number in 1918 with a little bit more than 20 per cent of people who lived in their own dwellings. It can be seen that the upward trend led this bar to a doubtless increase with about 70 per cent of people living without any rental payments.

It is clear from the given data that during the course of the previous century people started to value having their own place to live more, than temporary lodgings.
