Middle East which is rich in oil, produces more than half of the total oil production with 56%, whereas consumes only 6% of world’s oil reserve annually. In contrast, Asia, USA and Western Europe produces less 1-3 per cent of oil production, yet they are the major consumers. Their annual oil usage is almost 10 times of their production.
Asia and USA utilizes one quarter of world's annual oil production with 26% for Asia and 25% for USA. The Western Europe consumes 19 percent of world’s oil production. Canada is the second greatest supplier of the world’s oil with 14% and 3% of oil is used in Canada yearly.
The production vs consumption ratio of Central America and Eastern Europe is almost balanced with around 8 percent for the former and 7 percent for the latter one. Other locations like Africa, Australia and New Zealand does not have a major effect both in consumption and production.
