The chart illustrates the purchase and consumption habits of coffee and tea in a month, by people in five cities of Australia, which was the outcome of a survey.
Overall, the highest proportions were recorded of folks visiting a café for the beverages with Melbourne and Hobart being in the lead. Whereas the percentage of people purchasing instant coffee is higher than those purchasing fresh coffee.
The percentage of people going to café for beverages (tea or coffee) is the highest in Melbourne and Hobart at around 65% followed by Sydney which is close to 60%; meanwhile cafes in Brisbane and Adelaide has around 55% and 50% visitors respectively.
However, the values for customers buying instant coffee is slightly higher than fresh coffee in all 5 cities, with Hobart being in the lead with around 55% and Brisbane comes next having consumers between 50% and 55%. The remaining 3 cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide) has a popularity from 45% to 50%. Whereas the percentage of residents buying fresh coffee ranges from slightly lesser than 45% to merely below 35% with Brisbane having the lowest proportion.
