The bar chart provides information on the total number of telephone calls were made by three different categories a seven year perod from 1995 in the UK.

It can be seen from the graph that in 1995, the amount of local fixed calls had the highest at well over 70 billion minutes, whereas the lowest calls by mobile phone at only around 1million minute. Meanwhile the figure for national and international was just under 40 million minutes.

Between 1995 and 1999, the number of all telephone minutes showed an increasing trend. In terms of local fixed calls, which rose slightly from near 80 billion minutes to a peak of 90 billion minutes. Similarly, the number of minutes were used to call national and international also increased from 40 billion minutes to 58 billion minutes. But the usage of mobile calls had always very less within the given period.

In contrast, the following two years had noticed a significant differences. The number of minutes used by to cal local people registered a remarkable decline which dropped to 72 million minutes from 85 billion minutes, while the amount of mobile minutes reached almost doubled ( 45 billion minutes ). But at the same time, the figure for local and international fixed call minutes grew slightly to reach a moderate 60 billion minutes from 55 billion minutes.

Overall, it is clear that the number of minutes local fixed calls registered a decreasing trend, however other two types of calls were found a rising pattern in the UK.
