The chart below shows waste collection by a recycling centre from 2011 to 2015
The bar chart illustrates the number of different types of wastage collected by a recycling centre over the course of 5 years starting in 2011.
As can be seen from the chart, all four recorded categories of waste experienced an upward trend albeit with their periods of volatility.
Moreover, the figures for paper were the highest among the years surveyed except for the year 2013.
In particular, there were 58 tons of paper waste, compared to almost 50 tons of glass and approximately 33 tons and 32 tons of tins and garden garbage respectively in 2011. The next year saw a decrease in all sectors with the highest figure for paper at 50 tons and the lowest for garden at roughly 15%.
However, while the number of wastage in the form of paper continued to fall by 10 tons in 2013, that of three other types rose back to their 2011’s level. Interestingly, the figures for paper went through a two stage increase in the next 2 years, first slightly over 50 tons then exponentially to 70 tons. Meanwhile, that for glass, tins, and garden fluctuated marginally around the 2013’s level, ending up at over 50 tons, nearly 40 tons and 35 tons sequentially in 2015.
