The bar chart below illustrates information on female school-leavers going into higher education in the UK, USA, Canada, Japan, and Germany in the years 1970 and 2005.
Overall, the percentage of women in 2005 in all five countries was higher than in 1970. In two different years, Canada hit the highest percentage in the graph.
The graph clearly depicted that in 1970, nearly 20% of female school-leavers went into higher education in Japan but women in the USA were about 20% higher than that in Japan. After 2\35 years, Japan had a significant increase in the rate of females but the percentage in 2005 in the USA was still higher than in Japan.
Besides, the UK had just 35% while Germany exceeded more in 1970. In 2005, the percentage of female school- -leavers slightly increased in Germany in contrast increased significantly in the UK.
