The bar chart show the proportion of men and women who were overweight between 1980 and 2010 in Australia.
In general, the number of overweight people increased years after years and males were accounted for this more than females.
For men, the figures started at 40% and kept on rising in the next two decades up to 65%. From 2000 to 2010, the percentage of overweight males slightly declined to 61%.
In the other hand, the proportion of women who were overweight in 1990 were 10% lower than men. The next 10% this number rose sharply to 45% and remained increasing up to 52% in 2000. In the first ten years of the twenty-first century, this number stayed the same.
