Overal, the majority of the people in Yemen are between the ages of 0-14years, as above 60 hold a lesser percentage. It is estimated that in 50years time the greast part of the population will comprise of the ages between 15 -59 years, whilst 60 years plus will be marginalised. Further, greater proportion of the people in Italy is composed of able bodied people between 15-59years, while children below 14years occupy the least number. In future it is foreseen that in Italy, the majority of the population will almost consists of both 15-59 and above 60 years, as below 14 will be few.
Highlighted on the chart, half of the population in Yemen comprises of children below the age of 14years, whilst adults above 60years are very few, as they occupy about one tenth. It is projected that in 50 years time, the majority of people will be of children and adults from 15 to 59years, while the 60 years plus remain an isolated number.
Furthermore, the population of Italy in 2000 consists of a greater percentage of 61.6 for able bodied, whilst infants and children below 14, was the minority group. In 2050; despite, children and adults being the majority of the people, at 46.2 percent; 60years plus age group is following closely at 42.3 percent, whereas ages between 0-14 years bears an insignificant number.
It can be clearly seen that, in Yemen the proportion of above 60s remain lower in both given periods, though it increased from 3.6% to 5.7%. There will be a huge decrease in population for children below 14 from 50.1 % to 37%, whilst for children and adults, there will be a fluctuation trend from 46.3% to 57.3%. In Italy, ages of 15-59years remain the majority of the population, as 0-14years remains marginalised. Comparing Yemen and Italy, overally ages between 15-59years has the greatest percentage of the population, while 0-14 years is median and lastly above 60s are marginalised. In Italy the population of below 14 remains relatively low.
