The line graphs depict percentage of households having electrical appliances and number of hours spent per week for housework. The graphs were plotted based on data of one country over a century that is from 1920 to 2019. Upon first glance, throughout the given period number of houses using electrical machines increased significantly and people's time spent on doing housework fell by 2019.
Back in 1920, Refrigerators were not as common as Washing machines or Vacuum cleaners, although their numbers plummeted by the end that is 2019. Growth in numbers of Washing machine was very less compared to other two appliances. The time spent on Housework is a summation of time spent on individual chores (Washing clothes, preparing meals, cleaning). This fell from 50 hours per week to 10 hours per week during the time period.
We can relate both graphs as the number of appliances increased there is a significant reduction in the amount of time spent on doing housework every week.
