The charts below show changes in the proportion of the energy produced from different resources in a country in 1985 and 2003.
The given pie charts well compare information about the proportion of power generated for each resource (oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear, hydro, and other renewable resources) in a country in 1985 and 2003. Overall, it is evident that the proportion of energy produced from oil and that produced from nuclear experienced a significant decrease, whilst the proportion of the other 4 resources underwent oppositely.
In detail, it can be explained that although the figure of energy produced from oil had accounted for the highest at 52% in 1985, it dropped to 39% in 2003; similarly, the figure of energy generated from nuclear dipped greatly from 22% at the beginning to 8% at the end. On the other hand, there was a growth by 10% in the figure of electricity generated by natural gas throughout those mentioned years, and became the greatest proportion in 2003 at 23%. Moreover, the proportion of power produced by other renewable resources also grew gently by 3% from 1985 to 2003. Finally, the proportion of hydropower underwent remained constant at 4% during eighteen-year period.
