The given pie charts illustrate the proportion of time which working adults committed to various activities in a certain nation between 1958 and 2008.
Overall, the percentages of all the activities increased, except for going out, other hobbies and sleeping. It is also noticeable that working is the activity which received the most committed time during throughout the years.
In the year 1958, the proportion of working was the largest, about one-third of the entire proportion. Sleeping stood on the second place, at about 1% less. Outside social engagements took up around one-fifth of the whole proportion. Relaxing at home and other interests occupied 8% and 6% respectively. Commuting to work was in the last position, at precisely 2%.
In the year 2008, there was an increase in most kinds of the activities. Working went up by 9% and still held the top position. Home recreational activities was 5% higher., and going to the workplace quadrupled, from 2% to 8%. Going out saw a downward trend with 13% lower, which was equal to other pursuits (6%) as the lowest percentage. Sleeping was lower as well, which constituted one fourth of the entire proportion.
